COLOUR SELECTIONS - DECEMBER 2014
Monday, July 20, 2015
After making our first initial deposit we were soon booked in to the world of style to have our colour appointment. Here are just some of the colour selections I thought that were worth sharing.
Our style is classic hamptons with a hint of french.
The colour palette is whites and greys
Our internal wall paint colour is Wattyl Dhimba which should provide a good contract against the white skirting/architraves and cornices.

Delux Champignon - Render Colour |
Elebana Roof Tiles - Barramundi Colour |
Garage Door Color - Monument |
Garage Door Profile - Standard Inclusion |
White Aluminium Framed Windows - We chose to change to a 'Hawthorn' style window to give it a more Hamptons feel. |
90mm Sydney Cove Cornices |
67mm Replica Architraves |
If only they offered architraves/skirting and cornices like these I'd be in heaven. We will be trying to find a similar grey to paint our internal walls - love how it makes the white stand out. |
These iron doors were our first choice but are no longer available through Corinthian |
Sticking to the standard door and having them painted Woodland Grey. |
Classic Staircase option 2- We chose a PD Black stain with white risers. |
Love this staircase. |
Drooooool |
We're using the same profile for all our internal doors also. (but painted White) |
Downstairs Powder Room Feature Wall Tile - National Tiles - Exagon Milk. Its a nice white matt tile with subtle textures
|
Nickles Fresh Twin Shower - Downstairs Bathroom |
Mizu Drift Semi-Inset Basic - downstairs bathroom |
Mizu Drift Wall Mixer in the Powder Room |
Kado arc inset basin - Upstairs bathrooms |
Upgraded to Essastone benchtops for all bathrooms - New Crystal Salt is a standard inclusion. |
Essastone - Verona Mist - 40mm thick Kitchen Island Benchtop - Yes we upgraded to the highest Category. |
Essastone - Bone White - For Kitchen Benchtops (except the Kitchen Island) |
Kitchen Cabinetry Door Profiles - Formica Settler Profile in White |
This is what I'm trying to achieve. |
Kitchen Drawer Handles |
Kitchen Cabinet Handles |
Teknobilli Oz T7 300 pull out sink mixer |

Your selections are stunning, that is going to be an elegant home. I am considering building the Charlton but I imagine that there is a lot to be added in upgrades as the standard range is basic. Did you find that you had to upgrade almost everything? Did they put a limit on what you could or could not change?
ReplyDeletehanks! Most of our upgrades were structural and we found Porter Davis to be quite accommodating with our needs. For example having a shower in the downstairs powder room was not an option but our sales consultant did a great job in rejigging the plan to make it work!
DeleteIn terms of colour selections the bulk of our money we allocated towards the kitchen cabinetry and stone bench tops. With the tile selection we were surprisingly happy with the standard tile range but if you choose to upgrade tiles I can see this adding up quite quickly.
Good luck with it all, happy to answer any questions you have. e.g costs etc. I know that would have helped me in making my decision.
Thank-you! We had a look at the display in Werribee on the weekend and loved it. We're still a while away from making any firm decisions but the large family area and kitchen are just what I want ... and the ensuite with the bath is perfect! I like your idea of extending the width of the garage, I think I'll keep that in mind if we end up going with this house. That's a great way of adding extra storage space.I haven't been to the World of Style but good to know the standard range has good options as we would be on a tight budget for this house!
DeleteLove your choices. Did you pay extra for the Formica cabinets?
ReplyDeleteWe sure did. We chose a satin vinyl finish throughout kitchen in lieu of standard laminate finish and with the door profile we choose - this cost us an extra $7500!! (and we don't even have overhead cabinets)
DeleteA lot more than what I expected that's for sure.
Wow! Good choice though.
ReplyDeleteHi Chi, we are looking at building the Charlton may I ask with staircases what's the included style or do you pay extra? And the Facade do you pay extra for that as well? Many thanks Blair
ReplyDeleteHi Blair, The standard staircase I believe is made of MDF which would need to be carpeted. We upgraded to the classic stair option 2 which includes upgraded to stain grade treads, risers and stain grade closed stringer, posts, handrails and additional balustrade to first floor void area. This upgrade costed us $2615.
ReplyDeleteWe paid an extra $13K (approx) for the Sinclair Facade.
Thanks Chi, sorry I think I sent you another message re the Facade my apologies. Thanks for the info you have been soooo helpful! Looking forward to more updates! Cheers Blair
ReplyDeleteHi Chi
ReplyDeleteYou are building my dream house, from colours to cabinetry, amazing!!!
We are also looking at the Charlton! Can you please advise roughly your total price with all the upgrades?
Thanks so much
Hi Genna
DeleteThe Charlton is such a great floor plan isn't it?! The total price for us was close to the $370k excluding our site costs. Keep in mind that doesn't include any flooring and the upstairs is very basic i.e. no LED lights, door profiles, ceiling heights, skirtings etc were all left standard.
Hope that helps :)
Hi Chi,
ReplyDeleteSorry for the late query but, but could you tell me how much extra did you have to pay to add the shower into the powder room.
