As usual Porter Davis have been progressing nicely with our build. Our weekly visits to the house have always surprised us with something new. This week we were delighted to see the majority of the cabinetry to our kitchen, laundry and bathrooms, internal doors and wardrobe doors fitted. Architraves were in the progress of being measured and installed and skirting boards delivered and sitting pretty in the foyer.
This afternoon I got the call from our site supervisor to say that fixing stage is 99% complete (1% of the architraves still to be ordered for some double doors) and even better news is that we are on track to have the house completed for handover before Christmas. Ho Ho Ho.

..what's next?
- Work is progressing on the garage and alfresco which means hopefully all the hebel work will be completed ready for the render guys to finish their work.
- Spoke to SS about the rendering and he did confirm that what I saw was just a base coat so no need to panic. They will need to come back and arrange their own scaffolding to complete the render to the bottom half of the house, garage and alfresco followed by a final coat of render. Yippee.
- Painting will commence on the 4th November and hopefully be finished by the 13th November from which we will commence all the electrical fit outs.
The final stretch is finally here which means I really need to get a move on in sorting out our carpet and floorboard supplier. Its great that we might be moving in by Christmas but that means its also going to be a busy period for these flooring suppliers and other trades we'll need to get in post handover so it might mean a January move in afterall. On the plus side I will be making good use of the post christmas sales to furnish furnish furnish.
