Upgrade: Floating Vanity Colour: Alaskan. Finish: Nuance

As standard there is no storage in the powder room but because we have converted it to a bathroom we upgraded to include a vanity and shaving cabinet. The vanity is floating to give the appearance of more space.

Instead of the standard mirror we chose to upgrade to have a shaving cabinet again for storage reasons..

These drawers were an upgrade. I personally think you got to have drawers in the bathroom - so handy for your brushes and other bits and bobs.

..what's next?

• Work is progressing on the garage and alfresco which means hopefully all the hebel work will be completed ready for the render guys to finish their work. 
• Spoke to SS about the rendering and he did confirm that what I saw was just a base coat so no need to panic. They will need to come back and arrange their own scaffolding to complete the render to the bottom half of the house, garage and alfresco followed by a final coat of render. Yippee.
• Painting will commence on the 4th November and hopefully be finished by the 13th November from which we will commence all the electrical fit outs. 

• Cornices have been put up
• Stairs installed
• Eaves 95% complete
• Rendering 75% complete

Eaves are done with the exception of this bit here above the balcony but you don't the scaffolding for this which was pulled down this week.

Render to top 3/4 of the house. Now I'm assuming the render is still to get be painted cos this is not the colour I was expecting.

Cornices

Upgrade: Sydney 90mm & Standard: Gyprock Cove

Gyprock Cove Cornice Upstairs - these are a standard inclusion. Very common in a lot of houses.

The Staircase 

Upgrade: Classic Staircase Option 2 

Charlton on Display in Eucalpt Wollert. The way this photo is shot makes the staircase appear a lot wider than it in in real life. Below is an actual shot of the staircase that I took.

Display staircase - No post instead the handrail wraps around the plaster.

• The house is all plastered on ground and upper floor
• Eaves have been put into place (still needs to be finished off) and 
• First coat of render applied to 75% of the house 

With the plastering up it felt so good to walk in and get a sense of space. I personally felt that the space looked smaller than it did pre-plaster but that will most likely change once it's painted as the lighter colour will make any space appear bigger.

From a plastering perspective the cornices will go up next, it's so good to see your house start to show some personality with our world of style selections starting to be realised.

Energy drinks seem to be the drink of choice for our tradies

You'll notice markings or notations either spray painted or written on the concrete slab this is mark where the electrical are so the electrician can do his/her thang once the plaster is up.

Downstairs bathroom - If you have chosen to tile all the way up to the bathroom ceiling as we have the cornices will be put on after the tiles have been laid.

We were going to add a transom above our entry doors to make use of our norther light aspect but just as well we couldn't because the balcony would have prevented any natural light coming in.

First coat of render done to 3/4 of the home.

Top half is first coat of render. Bottom half is hebel.

Whats next?

So this coming week we should see 

• Eaves completed
• Rendering to 75% of the house completed - looking forward to seeing the render colour, 
• Cornices installed
• Stairs will be put in the week after
• Cabinetry - don't have any idea as to when to expect this yet. I'll ask in my next chat/update with our BC or SS later this week.
