STAIR CORNICE ISSUE RESOLVED & MORE PHOTOS

Wednesday, January 13, 2016

The cornice below the staircase is now extended to the full length of our wall. Its taken a while to get there but we're happy with the outcome. This issue could have been avoided by being brought to our attention when the staircase was being measured or resolved during plastering stage when they realised the wall wasn't going to fit.  Shame it has taken this long but at least we got there.

Photos are courtesy of our site supervisor.

So whats left?

Carpenters still need to lower the master room window which will finalise most of the carpentry work so painters can come in and complete off their bit which is all suppose to happen this week. The final paint work will definitely transform the place as it will mean the staircase will be stained and painted and our french doors will turn a lovely white. After this the cleaners will do a swoop in before Porter Davis inspectors come in to do their 'compliance' check.

We're getting close indeed but I find it strange that we are yet to receive any official dates from PD. I'm over hassling them about it so will just wait to hear from then. In the meantime I have already started to organise quotes for our driveway and side path, side gate, fencing and decking and window covering requirements. Boy this is all adding up quick so it looks like there will be no holidays for us for quite a while.

Here are some more photos we took last visit.

    1. Hi anonymous

Its a few thousand to increase the width of the garage depending on how wide you wamt to go but the actual rear roller door was under $100 (from memory).
