HEBEL COMPLETED

Monday, October 05, 2015

So our house is all "hebelled" (I'm pretty sure that's not a word) which was done in about 2 weeks. When I told our SS we were surprised at how fast the hebel he went on to reassured me that I had made the right decision with going with hebel as its a much better product and offers a quicker build time. I still have some reservations about future maintenance of it and how general trades may not be as familiar with the material as brick....e.g. Will they know how to install a clothesline onto Hebel? What about landscaping with soil right up to the house? I guess we'll have to wait and see. Probably really basic stuff but you never know.

So whilst the hebel is completed our SS is organising for the eaves and upstairs rendering to be completed before he will have the scaffolding taken down. Meanwhile plastering is set to start this week and I will also be meeting our SS for the first time..I know its probably a bit late in the game but its a bit hard trying to organise a time with a 4 month old.

So now for some photos...

External doors have been fitted.

Internal Garage Access Door - Cambridge Style. We chose the Balmoral Style for our internal doors but it doesnt come in a 2040mm size so had to opt for this one. Apparently there is little difference between the Balmoral and Cambridge.

    1. Hi Karen, how's your build going now. Where are they up to with the brick work? We chose the 2 panel balmoral door for downstairs. But we also upgraded the height of all doors. I'll need to get back to you on the price, it wasn't cheap though I can tell you that much.
