We drove away really excited to see so much progress.. the house really starting to come together...I kept thinking to myself that I wished our site start date was a couple months earlier to avoid slow Dec/Jan holiday period...Ah well.

Anyway as promised in my last post here are some progress photos of the build.

You can see the joins between all the hebel panels.

Plasterboards Delivered

Plasterboards sitting in our family room

Plasterboards for upstairs

Sydney 90mm Cornices

Upstairs Cornices - Gyprock Cove Cornice. Wish I had the Sydney ones for upstairs as well. Darn it!

 Doors Doors Doors

Front Entry Door - Ready for lock up?

Laundry Door - I don't like this door but had to go with it as we're installing a doggie door and its much cheaper to get one installed on this type of door than a fully glazed one. Ah the joys of owning a dog.

Bentley, that laundry door is for you

French Doors

Are these Cavity Sliding doors?

Shower Bases

Upstairs Main Bathroom Shower

Master Ensuite Shower Base

Downstairs Shower

Power

Electrical Meter Box  is in the study - You can see all the cabling running from it.

Electricity Meter Box

View from our Kitchen Galley where we have put the main data point.

Electrical Point for our hardwired door bell.  This is probably one regret - could have got a wireless one for heaps cheaper. Oh well.

Not sure what this electrical wiring is doing there. Need to recheck our plans.

Wiring for our junction boxes for future external lights.

All the cabling runs down from a wall in the games room (I think)

Windows

Family Room Window

Games Room Window - had to be obscure to prevent overlooking, we chose the 'cathedral' style.

Downstairs bathroom window. We upgraded to a square set reveal awning window as per the one display at Wollert.
 The standard is sliding.
Whats with these window wedges? How do they fill the gap?

Master Ensuite Window - Standard.

Retaining Wall

Double brick retaining wall

Heating & Cooling

Other Stuff

Temporary staircase :)

Site Bin has been cleared. Don't mind my finger :p

  1. Yours is really going very quick chi!A lil bit disappointed with ours we went to check the house today and nobody is working there at the moment rang our SS and ask if we will be at lock up stage by end of october and was told that they are still fixing the frame stage at our house and lock up will probably be by November! And he wanted to meet us in person too so we gonna schedule that. All they did was fix the frames, install all the windows, duct, plumbing electrical and thats it!Whats the next stage after that?is it the wrapping stage?

  2. Hi Karen, It looks like we're way ahead of you but I don't think you're that far behind. The house wrap is very quick and brickwork starts straight after that. End of November? wow that's not what I expected, I might try and catch up with my site supervisor this week and see what he says about our lock up date. Will let you know.

  3. Thanks chi!well because we are going for a holiday on the 23rd of oct so i ask the SS if we will be at lockup before that and he said probably not!It might be 2nd week of nov.Which i thought is still a long wait till lockup!Because they dont continuously do work at the house maybe they dont have enough workers or depends on the schedule and also delayed on the items.Do you think your house will be finished by jan or feb?Coz its going really fast isnt it which is good! :-)

    1. My bet would be completion for sometime in February or March. I would have thought that your build would be heaps quicker given that you're in an area where there are plenty of other builds going on as well so they'd be more efficient.
Yeah it is very fasti just hope the quality is there. I am organising for an independent inspector to come out pre plaster (lock up) so we'll see. Keep my in the loop with your build...love seeing your updates on Instagram!

  4. Let me know how you go with your inspector! When i check the errors that needs to be rectified they have fixed it already which is good. They did a lot of trimmings of the frame and renailing.I kept on checking your blog to see any updates too!So i know what will happen to our house next!hihi!!

  5. Hi Chi
    - Yes they are your cavity sliding door frame
    - The "wedged" are called packers. They level, plumb & straighten the window frames. They are usually at each end of the Window and in middle (more needed depending on window size). The "gaps" are fine.

Can you send me your email as I have some Q's regarding PD

    Thanks Simon
